our first dog: Youri, a Belgian Sheepdog

This is not a Chow but a Belgian Sheepdog (Groenendaeler), Youri was my first own dog and very special to me. He came in 1983 at the age of 18 months. I was his fourth owner. He learned me a lot about dogs and dogbehaviour. It took four years before he was sure this was his for ever home. But he kept being "a lone wolf". He never gave himself totally, as our other dogs did. But I loved him very much.

Youri was 19 months on the first photo, and just lived for a month with me. Youri died at the age of 13, the second photo was taken two weeks before he died.
